Congratulations to the children who had their First Holy Communion last Sunday. Míle Buíochas to Ms. Mahon for preparing them so well and also to the staff and parents. Gymnastics will resume on Wednesday. Go raibh míle maith agaibh.

Gender Equality Policy

Aims

This policy will assist all school partners in achieving a balanced and inclusive learning environment for the boys and girls in our school.

Introduction

Gender equity is practised in a number of areas in the school e.g.

• Committees such as the Friendship Week Committee and the student Council always include boys and girls

Areas for improvement:

• Allocation of jobs within the school
• Lines on yard for lining up
• Discipline Equal treatment for boys and girls

Objectives:

• Strongly encourage all pupils to participate in all areas of the curriculum and thereby safeguard against stereotyping
• Strongly encourage all pupils to participate in various administrative areas of the school
• Treat all pupils fairly and equally regarding discipline
• Continue to encourage boys and girls in the participation in extra-curricular areas
